Code of Conduct

At FemReality, we create learning experiences where young people—especially girls, young women and gender-diverse youth—can discover technology through creativity, collaboration and experimentation. Every workshop, event and community gathering is built on one simple idea: people come first.

This Code of Conduct helps us create spaces where everyone feels safe to participate, express themselves and grow.

Kindness & Respect

We treat one another with kindness, empathy and respect. We welcome different perspectives, encourage thoughtful conversations and believe everyone deserves to be heard. Whether you’re a participant, educator, partner or team member, we expect interactions to be respectful, constructive and inclusive.

Space for belonging

Technology shapes our future and everyone deserves to be part of it. We welcome people of all genders, backgrounds, cultures, identities, abilities and experiences. We recognize that many people have historically been excluded from technology, and we actively work to change that.

Curiosity first

At FemReality, we believe that learning is about asking questions, trying new ideas, making mistakes and discovering what you’re capable of. We celebrate experimentation, creativity and personal growth, not competition or perfection. Everyone learns at their own pace.

Everybody is responsible

A supportive learning environment depends on all of us. We respect personal boundaries, ask for consent before taking photos or recordings, and treat personal stories shared during workshops with care and confidentiality. Creating safe spaces is a shared responsibility.

Harassment and discrimination have no place here.

FemReality does not tolerate harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • sexism
  • racism
  • homophobia
  • transphobia
  • ableism
  • xenophobia
  • antisemitism
  • islamophobia
  • bullying
  • sexual harassment
  • hate speech
  • deliberate exclusion
  • any behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome.

If something happens, tell us.

If you experience or witness behavior that goes against this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to speak to a member of the FemReality team. No concern is too small. Whether something made you feel uncomfortable, excluded or unsafe, we’re here to listen.

Every report will be taken seriously, handled with care and, whenever possible, kept confidential. Our priority is always the safety, dignity and wellbeing of everyone in our community.

Creating inclusive and empowering spaces is an ongoing practice. We continue learning, listening and improving our work, our workshops and ourselves. To protect our community, FemReality reserves the right to ask anyone who repeatedly or seriously violates this Code of Conduct to leave our physical or digital spaces.
